Breeze Richardson

Director of Strategic Partnerships; Producer, Chicago Amplified

As the Director for Strategic Partnerships, Breeze is responsible for working to ensure a coordinated and fully developed partnership program for Chicago Public Radio.  She is also the Executive Director of Chicago Public Radio Presents, the station's live event series now in its second season.  As a producer, Breeze manages Chicago Amplified, Chicago Public Radio's Web-based audio archive of public events sponsored by leading cultural institutions and organizations throughout the community.

Breeze joined Chicago Public Radio in September 2003 as an intern for Worldview, Chicago Public Radio’s weekday global affairs program. She later became a producer for Worldview and went on to produce StoryCorps-Chicago in 2005.  Breeze is also the producer for Chicago Public Radio's Louder Than a Bomb series.

Prior to joining Chicago Public Radio, Breeze hosted Get up, Stand up at the University of Chicago radio station and was a regular columnist for The University Daily Kansan. She also co-founded The Kaw Valley Independent, a community newspaper in Lawrence, Kansas.

Breeze has a M.P.P. from the University of Chicago’s Irving B. Harris Graduate School of Public Policy and a B.A. in Economics and American Studies from the University of Kansas.

Originally from Kansas, Breeze resides in the Lincoln Square neighborhood of Chicago with her husband, Kelsey, and their boys, Gus and Iggy.
