It’s mid-September and it’s really only a certain amount of time before all of Chicago heads indoors for the winter season. We may have to give up some of our summer fun but not our books. Reading is a sport suited to the in and out of doors. But here’s a question for you: does where you read something make a difference in how you read it? A new collection of essays asks just that. Jim Coudal is the president of Coudal Partners, publisher of Field-Tested Books. We caught up with him out in the field, outside of Harold Washington Library in downtown Chicago. He says the idea for the book was hashed out over a pint of beer.
