Con-Con Could Go to State Supreme Court

Voters soundly defeated a measure on Tuesday's ballot that would have allowed changes to Illinois' constitution. But that defeat doesn't mean the fight for a constitutional convention is over.

When you went into your polling place on Tuesday, did you get a piece of paper about the constitutional convention? You should've. That's because weeks before the election, a judge ruled the language of the ballot question was misleading. It was too late to print out new ballots. Now, Bruno Behrend and other supporters of a constitutional convention are pursuing legal action and the possibility of a court-appointed re-vote, even though the measure failed badly.

BEHREND: You can always argue the political side of things and say, 'Well the margins were very wide and so on and so forth.' I would say that it's not really about the margins. I think it's about a fair election on a tough question.

Behrend says he'll be deciding in the next few days whether to take the issue to the state Supreme Court.
