Madigan Puts Pressure on Craigslist

Illinois' attorney general says Craigslist has promised to more effectively monitor its erotic services section. Lisa Madigan and other attorneys general met with lawyers for the Website Tuesday.

MADIGAN: Hopefully, Craigslist will do more and if they're uninterested in doing more in that regard, they always have the option of simply taking the whole section down.

Madigan says it's not enough for Craigslist to simply flag material it finds to be inappropriate. She acknowledges the number of erotic ads have decreased in the Chicago area, but says there are still too many. Craigslist officials could not be reached for comment.
