The Chicago Cubs could be in new hands by the end of the week.
The Ricketts family is closer to wrapping up its $845-million purchase of the Major League Baseball team.
Earlier this month, the Cubs filed for bankruptcy protection to allow the sale to go through and that court process is scheduled to be completed early this week.
The Cubs' current owner, The Tribune Company, will keep a small stake in the team.
The wealthy Ricketts family helped build TD Ameritrade Holding in Omaha, Nebraska. They will also get Wrigley Field and a portion of Comcast SportsNet out of the deal.
