As part of our series Chicago Matters: Beyond Burnham, we look at how crime impacts Chicago's development and the local economy. We talk with Karim Ismaili, the Chair of the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Ryerson University in Toronto, about the impact of urban violence. We will also be joined by Jens Ludwig, the McCormick Foundation Professor of Social Service Administration, Law, and Public Policy at the University of Chicago. He is also the director of the University of Chicago’s Crime Lab.
