Business owners in Chicago's Wrigleyville neighborhood are reacting to new Cubs' owner Tom Ricketts with excitement and optimism.

Steve Alexander is owner of 3639 Wrigley Rooftop. Cubs fans come by the hundreds to view games from his building on Sheffield Avenue. He says he's impressed with what Ricketts had to say at his introductory press conference this morning.

ALEXANDER: I even like the fact that they didn't go above and beyond to make crazy promises, but just saying, 'Hey, we're going to move forward,' and the World Series is a goal, which is, I think, great for us as a business, and of course the neighborhood, and of course the team.

Joe Shanahan, who owns the music venue Metro, says he appreciates Ricketts' comments about Wrigleyville's "magical vibe."

The business owners say they're eager to hear about plans to renovate the ballpark. But they hope any changes to Wrigley Field will happen gradually.

Mostly, as Cubs fans tend to do, they say they are excited about next year.
