Cook County Proposes Plan to Lure Filmmakers to Area

The Dark Knight and Public Enemies are just two of a number of films that were shot in and around Chicago in recent years. But with belt tightening becoming a reality for every industry, even with notoriously high Hollywood spending, it might be harder to attract studios. Cook County Board President Todd Stroger is proposing a Cook County Film and Entertainment Commission and Office that would work to develop local film production and keep jobs in the county. A Stroger representative says the office would coordinate services with the already existing Chicago and Illinois Film Offices. Chicago Film Office Director Rich Moskal tells us more about what the office would provide.
