No Replacement for Scott, Yet

Chicago Mayor Richard Daley (Kate Gardiner/WBEZ)
Chicago Mayor Richard Daley says he has yet to find someone to replace the city's Board of Education president Michael Scott.

Scott died last week in an apparent suicide.

Daley says he's spoken to a few candidates about the position but they would have big shoes to fill.

DALEY: It's hard to replace someone like that, who's like he's on a mission. His entire life, strictly for the schools. I've never seen anyone that committed in regards to the school system. It's very hard.

Daley comments come one day after the Board of Education's vice president announced an investigation into board members' spending.

That includes Michael Scott, who was reimbursing the Board for a trip to Copenhagen for Chicago's Olympic bid.
