Fans of Chicago's west suburban Kiddieland amusement park have reason to celebrate today.
Kiddieland first opened its doors in 1929 and closed this past September. But one of the theme park's signature rides may not be done after all.
Kiddieland held an auction earlier this week, where the classic wooden roller coaster called the Little Dipper was reportedly sold for $33,000. The winning bidder: Six Flags Great America located in north suburban Gurnee.
The coaster first ran at Kiddieland starting in 1950.
In a written statement from Six Flags, the Little Dipper will become the 14th coaster at the Gurnee theme park.
