Jens Nielsen is the Founder of
Nicaragua Direct
.
For the last 15 years, they have brought humanitarian assistance to
Nicaragua
. Jens was a professor at
Triton
College
for many years. He first got involved with
Nicaragua
when St. Marcos University in
Nicaragua
asked for his help in developing courses on hospitality.
He saw the challenges that many Nicaraguans were faced and he decided to start bringing suitcases full of medical and school supplies down to them. Jens has been traveling down to
Nicaragua
annually ever since.
