The 3rd District is represented by Democratic Congressman Dan Lipinski, who was first elected in 2004. The Third District is roughly bordered by Berwyn and Riverside to the north; Palos Hills and part of Worth to the South; Lyons to the West; and southwestern Chicago to the East. Traditionally very Democratic, the district went 59 percent for Kerry in 2004, though some pockets in the district voted in high percentages for President George W. Bush.
