11th District
The 11th District is currently represented by the retiring Republican Congressman Jerry Weller, who was elected in 1994. The district roughly follows along Interstate 80 from south of Chicago to east of the Mississippi River, and north to south along Interstate 39 from northern LaSalle County toward Bloomington-Normal. The 2001 redistricting removed some Democratic areas and added parts of Bureau, McLean and Livingston counties, resulting in a more Republican district. Fifty-three percent voted for President Bush in 2004 versus 46 percent for John Kerry.
