State's Attorney Race
The Cook County State's Attorney's Office is the second largest prosecutor's office in the country and employs more than 850 Assistant State's Attorneys. The Office prosecutes all criminal cases, for both misdemeanor and felony crimes, committed in Cook County. Current Cook County State’s Attorney Democrat Dick Devine was re-elected for his third term in 2004. His retirement after this term leaves the office open for this election.
