Cook County Recorder of Deeds
The Recorder of Deeds is responsible for accepting and maintaining land records information. The Recorder must maintain a historical database, store archive copies and make this data available for public and private viewings for those interested in the history of a specific piece of land. The Recorder accesses a fee for recording the information. Each term is four years. Democrat Eugene “Gene” Moore has served as Cook County Recorder of Deeds since January 1999.
