Chances are you've seen the word "Solve" in some unlikely places in the past few years. The tag was 24 year old Brendan Scanlon's street art identity. Scanlon was a graduate of the Illinois Institute of Art and sought to, in his words, "
foster a more positive, productive society" through his creative graffiti.
As you may already know, Scanlon was found stabbed to death early Saturday morning.
Chicago's street art community is reeling.
A memorial has been created on Grand near the intersection of Halsted and Milwaukee. Check it out while its still there or view documentation of
Scanlon's work online.
