Poesía en Abril Opening

Community-based literary center contratiempo presents the opening event for Poesía en Abril at festival co-organizer DePaul University´s beautiful new art museum in Lincoln Park. The festivities mark the fifth year of the festival. This year, we celebrate Cuba and Spain, and the vitality of the Spanish language in immigrant literature in Chicago and the U.S.
International poets Miguel Barnet, Ana Rossetti, Javier Ávila, Jorge Frisancho, Johanny Vázquez Paz, Jorge García de la Fe, Rei Berroa, Fernando Opere, and José Antonio Mazzotti perform together in the only Spanish language poetry festival in Chicago.
The reading is in both English and Spanish.
