This event will be recorded for WBEZ’s Chicago Amplified.

In his talk Professor Stovall will address the central place of transnational perspectives in black diasporic scholarship, and consider the relationship between transnationalism, which focuses on interactions between national cultures, and globalization, which tends to ignore or transcend them.  He will explore how globalization represents both a challenge and an opportunity for African diasporic thought.
