3 at 3: Three ways to succomb to distractions (and be happy about it)!

February 21, 2012

Is this blog what you're supposed to be reading right now, or are you supposed to be working? Pushing back that deadline to catch up on your Facebook feed? In other words, feeling a little distracted? Embrace it! That's what I say. And, that's what Hanif Kureishi says, too. His article last Sunday made me realize beautiful things can happen when you allow yourself to follow those divergent paths. A new site allowing us to wander? Pinterest. I was turned off at first when it was described as virtual scrapbooking but have given it another chance and am seeing the virtues. And it's so distracting! Now, back to Facebook. The mother of all time sucks. That's where I learned about the below video of Justin Vernon and Sean Carey from the band Bon Iver. I think the first song is beautiful and the video is interesting, too, despite being just two guys sitting at Steinways, facing one another. Give it a click-it kept me distracted frequently this weekend. And I loved every second of it. What's been distracting you? Ever feel guilty about it? Tell us in the comments.
