Here's what's coming up on Monday's Eight Forty-Eight:

Stream the show live at 9 a.m.

Soup and bread: What’s up with soup? The food most commonly associated with sad things like the Great Depression and being sick has taken on a new life with the Hideout's weekly event Soup & Bread, the popularity of which resulted in two cookbooks. Soup & Bread founder and author Martha Bayne and WBEZ blogger Louisa Chu say the phenomenon is more than the sum of its parts.

Slide guitar: Slide guitarists Jon Spiegel, Keith Baumann and Chris Walz join talk about slide guitar throughout the past century and play songs from their upcoming performance at Old Town School of Folk Music.
