Only one Blagojevich juror from Chicago

June 28, 2011

The federal court on Tuesday morning, as promised, released the names of the 12 jurors who convicted former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich on 17 corruption charges. As it did during Blagojevich’s first trial last summer, the court also released the jurors’ hometowns.

The jury forewoman, as we learned Monday, lives in Naperville. Connie Kay Wilson, like the rest of the jurors, refused to say her name on Monday during a short media availability. Members of the jury told eager reporters they would just have to wait.

Two of the jurors, according to the court, are from northwestern suburban Dundee. Just one juror hails from Chicago, specifically the Hyde Park neighborhood. That juror had the shortest commute to the federal courthouse. The longest commute belongs to the juror from Peru, Illinois – one hundred miles to the southwest.

We’ve mapped the juror hometowns below. (If you have trouble seeing it, you may need to upgrade your browser.) Click on a location marker, and the juror name - or names - will pop up along with their juror number. You can read specific comments from some of the jurors here.
