The public media-verse is buzzing this morning over Fresh Air host Terry Gross' appearance on The Colbert Report last night. The interview was, ahem, engrossing, though only about a fifth as long as the average Fresh Air segment.

What do we learn from this appearance? For one, Colbert appears to be a genuine fan of Terry Gross (perhaps he listened to Fresh Air on WBEZ back when he worked at Second City). Also, based on this photo our friend (and Fresh Air web producer) Melody Kramer took backstage, they have a massive height difference.
