International Food Smackdown

March 5, 2010

Friday on Worldview we're having an International Food Smackdown and we want you to judge! Some of our regular contributors will prepare their favorite national foods to bring to next Friday's show. We want a panel of listeners, with outstanding global culinary experience, to judge the most delicious food in the International Food Smackdown. To become a judge, write us a paragraph about your most memorable global food experience. Did you have the world's best Pad Thai in Beirut, or taste the most delicious curry in Johannesburg, or have a bite of the best burger in Tokyo? Whatever your most memorable meal abroad was, we want to hear about it. The three best essayists will appear on the show live with Worldview host Jerome McDonnell and judge the dishes in the International Food Smackdown. The winning essays will also be posted on the WBEZ blog. THE RULES: To qualify, you have to be able to come down to our Navy Pier studios on Friday, March 12 at noon. Send us your 300 words (or less) essay describing your favorite global food experience to worldview@chicagopublicradio.org. Please include "International Food Smackdown" in the subject line, and your name, phone number and the city you live in inside the email. Also, no attachments please. Paste the body of your text in the actual email. And remember, keep it under 300 words. Good luck!
