With no basketball season, the Chicago Blackhawks have the United Center to themselves (until the circus comes to town). It's sort of takes us back to the glory days of Blackhawk hockey, when Bobby Hull and Stan Mikita ruled the West Side. You know, before MJ was born.
Mikita, Hull and Esposito can be seen all over the UC these days, with pictures of their glory days and of course, television shots when they are in attendance. They were (and still are) the true Blackhawks. In fact, this Saturday the Blackhawks will unveil new statues of Hull and Mikita.
Stan Mikita may have been the best. And that makes him a great subject for our latest Wikipedia Files podcast.
