Lakeboat, an early look at the underbelly of working class life by prolific Chicago playwright David Mamet, is currently playing in a strong new production by Steep Theatre. This week Christopher Piatt examined the early life of Mamet, and considered how he became America's most notoriously excoriating dramatist.
