The conflict in Syria has spilled across the border into Lebanon. On Wednesday at least 30 Syrians inside Lebanon were abducted, with their captors calling for revenge for the kidnapping of a relative inside Syria. Earlier this week a federal court in Brazil ordered the suspension of construction on the Belo Monte dam project in the Amazon. The project, once completed, would have been the world’s third largest hydro-electric damn.
