I'm technically taking today off, but thought I would turn over this space to a very young and talented foodie. She also happens to be my daughter, and we thought it would be appropriate if she shared her thoughts on this day of food, giving and thankfulness. Happy Thanksgiving!
Well what do you know, it's that time of year again. Thanksgiving! Ahhh, a day filled with turkey, football, family, and friends. Sitting down at the dinner table, catching up with loved ones from different places, and stuffing yourselves (literally). To many of us, we take this day for granted. Why? The reason is, most of us have family, relatives, or friends, who welcome us into their homes for this happy time of year. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people in Chicago who are not as lucky as we are. For this reason, I feel very fortunate to have a wonderful family who loves and cares for me, and provides me the opportunity to celebrate this day.
Thanks to my dad for exposing me to new and exotic foods. If it wasn't for him, congee would not be one of my favorite foods. I want to also thank my mom for all of the hard work she has done for my family.
