Legendary blues musician Buddy Guy discusses his autobiography, When I Left Home: My Story, co-authored with David Ritz and published by Da Capo Press. Born in 1936 in rural Louisiana, Guy came to Chicago in the 1950s. He first became known as a session guitarist for Chess Records before working in the bands of Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf. Guy then formed a band with Junior Wells and emerged as a star in his own right.
