The fall 2012 selection for One Book, One Chicago is The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Selected as part of the "Now is the Time" initiative, the selection aims to stimulate a citywide conversation about making positive change in our communities and stopping the trend of misunderstanding and violence. Join us for a discussion of the book and its themes with WBEZ and Project on Civic Reflection.

As part of our Race: Out Loud series, WBEZ and Vocalo have invited you to read Studs Terkel's Race: How Blacks and Whites Think and Feel About the American Obsession. What’s changed in the past twenty years?  What hasn't?  And how do the questions Studs asked, about segregation, equality of opportunity, and hope make sense today?

As part of Sixty Inches From Center's partnership with the Chicago Artists Archive at Harold Washington Library, artists from across the city are invited to bring images, ephemera, an artist biography and anything else that tells your artist story, to be documented and formally processed for submission to this important archive.
