Wednesday Foodie Forecast: Wings. Wings. Wings.

Prepare to take flight (and strap on a bib). This Sunday, the 28th, thirty restaurants will participate in the search for the best wings in Chicago, at the 11th Annual Chicago WingFest.

Participating restaurants include:

  • Mahoney's Pub and Grille
  • Timothy O'Toole's Pub
  • Wool Street Grill
  • Crossroads Eatery

General Admission tickets cost $24 and includes all-you-can-eat wings, live entertainment from Cadillac Dave and the Chicago Redhots and a raffle ticket for sponsor giveaways. Proceeds will benefit Chicago Neighbors United, a community based organization which provides educational scholarships to inner city youth.

You can purchase your tickets at one catch? You must be older than 21 years old to attend.

On Tuesday, March 2, Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery is host a six-course Real Ale Brewer's dinner with hand-crafted beers. The dinner's menu is organized by dish origin and flavor profile and includes:


Cinnamon, cardamom, molasses and roasted malt-spiked white Alaskan salmon with lemon-basil créme

Bottle Conditioned Belgian Wit Bier


Charred bell pepper purée with Northern bean

Bottle Conditioned American Style I.P.A.


Cold-crisp Boston Bibb, brunoise of fresh British cucumber, pickled purple cauliflower, sweet tomatillo, pinot noir grape and a noir vinaigrette

Bottle Conditioned Belgian Rye I.P.A.


Russet potato-wrapped Black Sea bass roasted on jamón Serrano-split pea purée

Orland Park Cask Conditioned Scottish Ale


Cabernet grape leaf-wrapped braised rabbit scented with sage and rich demi

Cask Conditioned Red Ale Spiced With Sage


Blackberry-infused ice cream with brandy and bourbon sugar reduction on sweetened crépes

Cask Conditioned Bourbon Oatmeal Stout
