In case you're just joining us, every Tuesday here on the Adventures in Urban Eating blog we do something called "Something You Should Eat," a shout-out and homage to Chicago TV legend Harry Porterfield's well-worn segment.
This week, I'm off to Evanston, not to quiz the law students on how they're going about digging up research on capital crime cases, mind you, but rather, to indulge in that all-American treat: burgers at Edzo's Burger Shop. Eddie "Edzo" Lakin knows how to do burgers right. The former cook at such high-end downtown restaurants like Trattoria #10 grinds his chuck twice in the back of his narrow restaurant, then offers to either char it or griddle it - ala IN-N-OUT style - and makes all of fries from scratch. His milkshakes aren't half-bad either.
It's a go-to joint for Northwestern students obviously, but if you're in the area, the burgers are truly something you should eat!
