Chicago was once a huge player in the world of film. And while we may never come close to reclaiming that title, the city has made big strides in recent years. Big budget films are being made here with comforting – though limited – regularity. But having major production houses perusing our streets is but one small part of a much more robust local film scene here. For our year-end roundtable on film, "Eight Forty-Eight’s" regular film contributors came down and talked about the good, the bad and the hopeful for Chicago’s film scene in 2010. Christy LeMaster heads The Nightingale Theatre on N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago, and is the Managing Director of IFP Chicago. Hank Sartin edits the film section of TimeOut Chicago.
