On Monday tens of thousands of Iranians took to the streets of Tehran and other cities in the largest street protests since the 2009 uprising. Demonstrators came out to show their solidarity with Egypt’s revolt. There were clashes with police and at least one person was killed. Two members of the Iranian parliament said opposition leaders Mehdi Karroubi and Mir Museein Moussavi should be tried and sentenced to death. We talk about the state of Iran’s Green Movement with Asef Bayat, a professor of sociology and Middle East studies at the University of Illinois.
