Israelis have mixed view of unrest in the Arab world

As Egypt and others in the region remake their governments, Israelis waver as to what it means for their country's stability.
While Israel’s journalists do most of their regional reporting from home due to security concerns and budgetary constraints, they, like the rest of the international press, flocked to Egypt to cover the historic protests that took down Hosni Mubarak. Anshel Pfeffer covers defense issues for the newspaper Haaretz. He was the first Israeli reporter to arrive in Cairo to cover the massive demonstrations in Tahrir Square. Anshel wrote stories and op-eds challenging the Israeli public to support the pro-democracy movement in Egypt that toppled a longtime ally.
