Cook County State's Attorney Alvarez believes the death penalty abolition is an issue that should have been left to voters.
Eight Forty-Eight turned to individuals who work on capital cases for additional insight. Host Alison Cuddy spoke to Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez.
Alvarez has been a vocal supporter of the death penalty, and spoke by phone to talk about how this new legislation will affect prosecutors at her office.
