Seth Boustead scored Guy Maddin's 'The Heart of the World film' for the 2010 Sound of Silent Film Festival.

Think silent film and Charlie Chaplin or Buster Keaton probably come to mind. Or maybe some ragtime piano, or a bit of pipe organ? Seth Boustead is updating those images. He’s the man behind the Sound of Silent Film Festival. The annual festival features modern music, composed for modern silent films. With films by Martin Scorsese and Gus Van Sant on tap, not to mention some new music from local composers, Eight Forty-Eight needed to check it out. Seth Boustead joined Eight Forty-Eight's Alison Cuddy to explain more about the festival.
