Trout season in Illinois began on Saturday, April 2.

Fishermen all across the state are grabbing their tackle boxes and heading for open water. It’s the start of trout season for Illinois inland lakes. For many families, the first fishing trip is a rite of passage. For Steve Palmisano it’s a way of life. He runs Henry’s Sport and Bait in Bridgeport, and he talked about what area fishermen can expect this season.
