Food writer Heather Shouse explores food trucks around the country

A trip to the West Coast stoked Heather Shouse’s simmering fascination with food trucks. But, it was also a bit of a downer. Though Shouse can feast on food truck fare from one end of the country to the other, her home base Chicago still wasn’t hip to the mobile kitchen concept.
Still, Chicago merits a couple of entries in her new book Food Trucks: Dispatches and Stories from the Best Kitchens on Wheels. The book gets its official release on Tuesday, April 19 – as part of Chicago’s first food trucks summit at the Goose Island Brewpub.
Heather Shouse joined host Alison Cuddy to talk about the stories and recipes that make up the collection, and whether a fleet of food trucks is headed our way.
