Rahm Emanuel comes to Chicago's mayoralty with vast political experience.
He was the U.S. Representative for Illinois’ 5th Congressional District. He also steered the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and rose to the 4th highest position in the House: Chair of the Democratic Congressional Caucus.
Eight Forty-Eight took a look at what makes Emanuel such a successful politician, beginning with his "enforcer’ side. After all, he didn’t earn the nickname "Rahmbo" for nothing.
Award-winning author and television analyst Jonathan Alter got a very close look at Emanuel while writing his book The Promise: President Obama, Year One, and he offered his assessment of Emanuel, the politician.
