Longtime health care advocate Dr. Quentin Young supports the move for Oak Forest Hospital.

Oak Forest Hospital has recently been caught up in a stew of politics and health. Cook County President Toni Preckwinkle and other officials hope to close inpatient care at the hospital and transform it into an outpatient clinic.

But earlier in May, the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board ruled against that move. Dr. Quentin Young’s been watching the development quite closely, and he supports the efforts to convert the hospital to an outpatient clinic.

He joined Eight Forty-Eight to discuss the history and possible closure of Oak Forest Hospital.
