Violence in Colombia in the last few decades has displaced more than 3.5 million people. In response, the Colombian government struck a peace deal with drug-trafficking paramilitary groups eight years ago. But despite the peace agreement, many traffickers never disarmed; they simply reorganized into new groups. Now, these drug gangs are regaining strength, especially in the northern state of Córdoba. As a result, the mass displacement of people, once thought to be a thing of the past, has begun again.
