Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels was in Chicago on Monday, promoting his new book Keeping the Republic: Saving America by Trusting Americans. Gov. Daniels writes about the nation’s growing debt problem, especially as it relates to Social Security and Medicare, and explained how his own policies helped Indiana turn debts into surpluses. He also included some less than flattering comments about nearby Northwest Indiana. Daniels recently spoke with Michael Puente, Eight Forty-Eight's Northwest Indiana reporter.
