The Midwest Tea Party Convention was held in northwest suburban Schaumburg.

Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels’ book tour did not include a stop at a local rally for Tea Party activists but a weekend event in suburban Schaumburg did attract one Republican candidate for president. Herman Cain not only attended but won the 2011 straw poll at TeaCon. Then again, he was the only candidate to show up in person at the event. WBEZ’s Sam Hudzik was there too - and he joined Eight Forty-Eight with his take on the convention.
