Chicago-born filmmaker Prashant Bhargava's latest work is a family drama set against the backdrop of the Uttarayan kite festival
Chicago-born filmmaker Prashant Bhargava was out making the festival rounds with his feature-length debut, Patang, or, The Kite. The filmmaker grew up on the South Side. The Kite is a journey to his homeland – India – offers a glimpse into an annual kite flying festival and some tense family dynamics. The film will premier locally Tuesday night - at the Chicago International Film Festival. Bhargava will be present at the Chicago screenings and joined Eight Forty-Eight to talk about his film.
