The St.-John Perse Commemorative Reading Series celebrates individuals who demonstrate a consistent dedication and integrity of vision, humanity, innovation and artistry in their writing, increasing the dialogue and significance of poetry within a greater society, nationally and internationally.

Parneshia Jones is an Affrilachian Poet, a memeber of the board of directors of Guild Complex and Sales and Subsidiary Rights Manager at Northwesten UniVersity Press. 

Rachel Webster's poetry was recently pulished in Poetry Magazine. She teaches poetry at Northwestern University and is the editor of UinIVerse of Poetry.

Francesco Levato is a poet and multi-media artist and the executive director of The Poetry Center of Chicago. He is the author of Marginal State and a series of poem films.

Elise Paschen, poet and past executive director of The Poetry Society of America, is author of Ifidelities. A graduate of Oxford Univesiry, Dr. Paschen teaches in the Writing Program at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. The poet Joy Harjo describes Paschen's work as “passionate, lyrical episodes of precise and dangerous beauty.”

Poet & composer Richard Fammerée is a pioneer in the renaisance of poetry and music. Fammerée is the founding director of UniVerse of Poetry. He is author of Lessons of Water & Thirst and a series of contemporary/alternative art songs/poem songs.

And featuring original compositions by poète-chanteuse Carrie Ingisano and cellist Meg Lauterbach. Made possible by The Irving B. Harris Foundation, Whole Foods Market & FLATFILEgalleries.
