An Architectural Whodunit: The Renovation of Carlson Cottage
March 18, 2009
CAF/file
In 2008, Lincoln Park Zoo transformed the historic Carlson Cottage from an eyesore to an architectural treasure. The 120-year-old “comfort station” (i.e., restroom) was closed 40 years ago and no one could find any period photographs or drawings to guide the rehabilitation. Steinbrecher and David describe their experiences in preservation sleuthing and the surprises that they uncovered in the historic cottage.

Recorded Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Chicago Architecture Foundation.
