Ebrahim Moosa is Associate Professor of Islamic Studies at Duke University and author of the article “Genetically Modified Foods and Muslim Ethics,” published in the 2009 book Acceptable Genes?: Religious Traditions and Genetically Modified Foods.

In the article, Moosa talks about how developments in science and technology may impact the dietary restrictions and rules on food consumption that are part of many religious traditions, including Islam.
