Kurt Elling won a 2010 Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Album

Among the highlights of this year is a man who finally got what he deserved. After nine nominations, Kurt Elling won a Grammy this year. His "Dedicated To You: Kurt Elling Sings the Music of Coltrane and Hartman" won Best Vocal Jazz Album.

That’s the “cherry on top” of all the other accolades that he’s gotten lately.

He also won the Downbeat Critics Poll, again. And the Jazz Journalists male vocalist of the year.

Back in September of this year, Kurt Elling sat down with "Eight Forty-Eight" for a conversation about music, moving to New York and finally walking away with that small statuette.

He says the Grammy means a lot to him, both professionally and personally.
