Five years after Thornton Wilder won the Pulitzer Prize for his play Our Town, he won a second Pulitzer for The Skin Of Our Teeth. The story revolves around the Antrobus  family who seem completely normal on the surface. Actually, the family, and their housekeeper, are stand-ins for human archetypes—Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, Lilith, the man who invented the wheel, the woman who invented cooking, and so forth.

Eight Forty-Eight's dueling critics Jonathan Abarbanel and Kelly Kleiman.  tell us what it all means, and whether it's worth the journey back in time.
