Global Activism: Empowering Communities in Senegal

Molly Melching went to Senegal on a student exchange and basically never came back. Thirty-one years later Molly is still working to help communities meet development goals. Her organization Tostan has worked to empower communities to solve their own problems. As a result, more than one thousand villages have publicly declared an end to harmful traditional practices including female genital cutting and early, forced marriage.
